About Dr. Marra
|
Twenty five years ago, Dr. Marra began a journey uncovering
her interest in the mind/body connection and how that relates
to disease. She graduated from college with honors in Psychology
and went on to receive her Masters of Science degree in Psychology
at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA where she was recognized
by several state and national awards for her academic and
research achievements.
She went on to work for the National Institute of Mental
Health as a Research Psychologist where she developed basic
science skills. But her passion for medicine was not met until
she enrolled at Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington and
worked closely with Alan R. Gaby, MD mastering clinical nutritional
medicine.
While attending Bastyr University, she opened the first Natural
Health Research Clinic with Dr. Carlo Calabrese and D r. Leanna
Standish and worked as the United States liason for the German
phytoceutical company, Madaus Merdock Schwabe. She oversaw
clinical trials on a product, Echinaguard, and was responsible
for overseeing trials in Oregon and Washington. In 1999, she
moved to Connecticut and opened a private practice that largely
centered on environmental medicine, allergies, and Tick Borne
infections.

It was there where she trained with world leading experts
including: pediatric Lyme Disease specialist, Charles Ray
Jones, MD in New Haven, CT, and adult Lyme Disease specialist,
Richard Horowitz, MD in Hyde Park, NY.
Her training in Lyme Disease treatment and diagnosis is formidable.
Dr. Marra maintains a professional interest in integrated
medicine and attends meetings that foster knowledge in this
area. She is a member of several professional organizations.
She currently lives in Seattle Washington with her yellow
lab, Saxon. She is happy living in the pacific northwest and
hopes to help bring greater awareness to the public regarding
Tick Borne infections.
