About Dr. Marra, MS, ND, ILADS member since 2001

Dr. Marra is a board certified Naturopathic physician who specializes in the successful treatment of tick-borne illness and has been an ILADS memer since 2001.  She has a unique perspective on Lyme disease and associated illnesses drawing on her more than 25 year experience in healthcare, and on her personal experience with Lyme disease.   Dr. Marra incorporates information from a variety of different disciplines including: evolutionary biology, microbiology, immunology, psychobiology, infectious disease, neuroendocrinology, traditional medicine, alternative medicine, nutrition, herbal medicine, intuitive science, logic, reason, and spirituality to help her patients gain optimal health.  She has an unusual balance of talent in both art and science that contributes to a more integrated and holistic treatment for her patients.   The incorporation of left and right brain strengths in her practice allows for a rich healing experience for her patients.

Dr. Marra’s dedication to continued learning and training in her field of expertise is evident in her attendance to multiple annual professional conferences.  In her nearly 15 year career as a physician, she has trained with Charles Ray Jones, MD and Richard Horowitz, MD, both leading authorities on Lyme and associated diseases.  Dr. Marra is an active member of ILADS, and a member of the Washington Association for Naturopathic Physicians since 2007.  Prior to this, she was a member of the Connecticut Association for Naturopathic Physicians.  She continually uses new information in her practice so that patients receive state of the art healthcare for tick –borne illness.  Dr. Marra strives to push ahead at the forefront of medicine and science to deliver safe and effective healthcare to all of her patients.  Her intentions are clear and precise for returning her patients to function and wellness.

She has a network of other healthcare practitioners around the globe that she works with closely.  Sharing information and treatment techniques is an integral part of being an effective and compassionate physician, which is one of her most coveted professional goals.

Dr. Marra lives in Seattle with her Staffordshire terrier, Bella who she rescued from PAWS.   She enjoys many forms of art and music as well as hiking, biking, skiing, and most outdoor activities.  Although she is native to the east coast, she much prefers the west coast for its’ abundant natural beauty.  Mountains and sunsets are among her most favored aspects of the Pacific Northwest.
